TCVN is holding a 30 second pitch contest Wednesday, February 18th at General Assembly for all southern companies.
The first 50 attendees to sign up will get their spot on stage for a 30 second pitch and the chance to capture our top prize of $1,000 cash prize!
Company criteria is any industry, are not a service provider and have not raised a Series A investment round or higher.
Panel of Judges:
Jeff Lapin - President of Tech Coast Angels, Los Angeles
Former CEO of Starwood Hotels, Take-Two, and Atari. Dubbed the ‘turn-around CEO’, Jeff Lapin has built and run billion dollar companies in a variety of industries.
William Quigley - Managing Director, Clearstone Ventures Partners
William Quigley joined Clearstone Venture Partners shortly after its formation and concentrates on its Internet and communications related investments. During his first two-and-a-half years with the firm, he worked out of the idealab incubator and helped launch and lead investments in many idealab backed companies including Homepage.com, FreePC, FreeMusic.com and Paymybills.com. A number of his early-stage investments have gone public, including MP3.com, Tickets.com, eMusic and PeopleSupport and several have been acquired including InternetConnect (sold to Covad) and Phasebridge (sold to Emcore).
William’s current portfolio reflects his belief in the enormous opportunity in the wireless consumer and enterprise markets (AOptix, SoonR, Meru Networks, Novariant). He is also focused on emerging companies offering managed services in the enterprise and consumer sectors (Communicado, Spock Networks). Pierce’s entrepreneurial activities are focused in the areas of digital currencies like Bitcoin, gaming, payments, and ad tech. He is the founder of IMI Exchange, the world’s leading digital currency marketplace for games with sales exceeding US$1 billion annually, which raised over $100 Million from blue chip investors such as Goldman Sachs and Oak Investment Partners; ZAM, one of the world’s largest media properties for gamers with more than 15 million monthly users which was sold in January 2012 to Tencent; IGE, the company credited with pioneering the market for digital currency in online games, which generated $100 million in revenue in 2006 and was sold in early 2007. Ash Kumra is an award winning entrepreneur, author and public speaker recognized twice by the White House as an entrepreneur making an impact. Ash is currently co-founder of DreamItAlive.com; an online community empowering users to achieve dreams in all areas of life using Dreamboards, visualization, community, helpful products & content. Ash is also the creator and author of the book series "Confessions from an Entrepreneur" (an inside look on how to succeed as an entrepreneur).

Mr. Burke has also worked on marketing and entertainment projects in Tahiti, Mexico, and Israel, and most recently produced the feature documentary “Made in the USA: A 30 Day Journey” (USA30DAYS.com/trailer)
Burke is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, New York where he was the Hylan Scholarship recipient and an NCAA athlete. Joe makes his home in Orange County with his wife, an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Special Education, their two daughters.
