Learn how to run your clinical trials faster, better and even in “the real world.”
“I can attest to the benefits of working with the UK Clinical Research Network. We have recently initiated a large multinational trial in mesothelioma and thanks to the Network we have found the UK to be by far the most efficient and speedy of the 11 countries this trial is in.”
– CMO of a US biotech company

Annually, $1.5 billion has been invested to transform clinical research in the UK. This has resulted in an improvement in the delivery of clinical trials to time and target, from 21% to 73% over the last four years.
Changes include the simplification of paperwork, the availability of performance metrics for every clinical researcher in the UK, oversight of where trials will run most effectively based on expertise and load, a unique database of potential patients, and real-time monitoring of site performance. Much of this support is free and available to sponsors and CROs. Last year, the National Institute of Health Research supported studies for 630,000 patients.
As an impressive example of UK innovation, the city of Manchester has seen the development of the first “real-world”, large-scale, pragmatic, randomized clinical trial: the Salford Lung Study. The city of Salford’s EHR system and cooperation across providers allow patients on the study to be closely monitored in real-time, but with minimal intrusion into their lives.
