American Diabetes Association Names Integrium Clinical Research 2011 Honoree

Hamilton, New Jersey — November 5, 2011 – The American Diabetes Association is honoring Integrium Clinical Research at its 16th annual gala on November 5 at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey. The gala not only recognizes leaders and pioneering researchers in diabetes but also aims to raise funds needed to expand and continue outreach programs in New Jersey.

Integrium is a contract research organization (CRO) with a therapeutic focus on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association in New Jersey, Mathieu N. Nelessen says Integrium earned this honor for its successful efforts to speed the development of new and more effective drug treatment for diabetes.

Integrium has conducted 18 clinical trials of treatment for diabetes at 557 study sites. In addition to trials targeting diabetes, Integrium has conducted more than 100 cardiovascular and renal disease trials, which have an impact on diabetes care since diabetes is a leading cause of kidney failure and more than two-thirds of people with diabetes die of heart disease or stroke.
